February is National Dental Health Month!
Our dental staff has been visiting local Kindergarten classes and preschools to talk with the students about taking care of their teeth and eating a proper diet- while limiting unhealthy snacks. We created a fun interactive board this year. We have two categories: Healthy Foods that help keep us strong and Tasty Treats...but you must brush your teeth. We have a container filled with all types of health foods and yummy treats, the kids then tell us where to place them. This activity has been a big hit and a lot of fun to do with them!!! We still show them the video of Geena Giraffe...which we all love!!! Check it out below. I hope your kids enjoy it too! To top of the visit we read them the story- My Loose Tooth.
***For our finally we tell the children that it's very important at their age to allow mom or dad to HELP THEM with their brushing and flossing. We compare it to learning to write and how with lots of practice it gets better and easier. And by working with you as a team, everyone is doing their part to help prevent cavities.
